Israeli police seized weapons and other gear from the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar on Tuesday. Yitzhar has been a flash point for violence over the years and is home to some of the so-called "hilltop youth" responsible for vandalism of Palestinian property. The Israeli news site Times of Israel reported that among other things found during the raid, police found knives, saws, flammable liquids, tear gas canisters, face masks. The police believe that the arms would have been used against Palestinians as well as Israeli security forces…

It provides an interesting and comprehensive chronicle of the peace process since Carter's administration.   But the paradox of the Carter administration (and of this book) is that the administration that did the most (in theory) to find a comprehensive solution (on terms that are far more agreeable to the Israeli side than to the Palestinian side) is the same administration paved the way for greater Israeli occupation and aggression by taking Egypt out of the equation so Israel could fight on one front for the first time… Posted by Judith Ferste...

9-16-2017 MADA denounces Gaza sentencing of female Palestinian journalist battling cancer - Ma'an News Agency
